The U.S. Basketball Writers Association annually honors the highest gamers and coaches in the sport. So much has been product of St. John’s declining to acknowledge Seton Corridor star Myles Powell reaching 2,000 points for his profession early within the second half of the Pirates’ eighty two-seventy nine victory Saturday at the Backyard. I had no downside with the route the Purple Storm took, after Seton Hall requested them pregame if they might. This was their house sport, their enviornment, towards a rival. Instead, Powell will probably be honored at Prudential Heart before Wednesday’s dwelling game against Windfall. Had Powell set the school’s all-time scoring file or reached a major Big East mark, I’d feel in a different way. I’ve seen residence groups handle such situations in several ways. But St. John’s did not owe Powell or Seton Hall anything.
